Effect of quenching rate on spin texture in amorphous Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9 alloys

Abstract

X-ray diffraction and Mössbauer spectroscopy have been used to study the structural changes in amorphous Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9 as a function of quenching rate from the melt. Variation in quenching rates influences mainly the quenched-in free volume and the internal stresses, which in turn affects the spin texture and the magnetic properties of the ribbons.
