Abstract

In this review, we provide an overview of graphene-oxide (GO) containing responsive hydrogels. First, the usual preparation strategies are summarised, then an account is given of the effect of structural modifications of GO. Finally, a general overview of the effect on the responsiveness of the hydrogels is given. As the literature on responsive gel nanocomposites is very wide we focus our review on thermoresponsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) based systems.
