Effect of gamma-cyclodextrin, methanol and pH on the parameters of reversed-phase thin-layer chromatography of some antisense nucleotides

Abstract

The binding of twelve 8-substituted-2′-deoxyadenosine and seventeen 5-substituted-2′-deoxyuridine derivatives with gamma-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) was studied by reversed-phase thin-layer chromatography in acidic and alkaline environments. The relative strengths of the binding were calculated and compared with those determined in an ion-free environment. The binding strength of the antisense nucleosides depended considerably on both the chemical structure of the nucleosides and on the pH of the environment.
