Effect of continual drinking of tilorone solution on methylcholanthrene oncogenesis in mice

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

Tilorone hydrochloride (2,7 bis (2 diethylaminethoxy)fluren 9 one 2 HCl), administered to C57BL mice with the drinking water in a daily dose of about 50 mg/kg for a year, retarded significantly the appearance of tumors induced by a single s.c. dose of 120 μg methylcholanthrene dissolved in olive oil. Several signs of chronic toxicity were observed. No co oncogenic effect of tilorone was found.
