Effect of chemical state on the decay constant of Tcm99

Abstract

The chemical effect on the decay constant λ of Tcm99 has been investigated by means of the differential method. Two combinations of sources, Tc2S7-TcO-4 and Tc2S7-metallic Tc, were measured, of which the results are λ(TcO4-)-λ(Tc2S7)=(31.8±0.7)×10-4λ(Tc2S7) and λ(Tc2S7)-λ(metal)=(5.6±0.3)×10-4λ(metal). The present results agree well with those presented by Bainbridge et al. RADIOACTIVITY Tcm99; measured T12, double ionization chamber, chemical effect.
