Does the QCD Vacuum Build up a Colour Chemical Potential Dynamically?

Abstract

The one-loop effective theory is found for QCD assuming an over-critical homogeneous gluon vector potential background that corresponds to a non-vanishing colour chemical potential. It is found that the vacuum is unstable against building up a non-vanishing colour chemical potential for sufficiently large number of flavours.
