Abstract
High-field 19F n.m.r. measurements in Me 4NF solutions at 278 K confirm the existence of [AlF i] (3-i)+ complexes for i ≤ 5 but indicate that the widely assumed [A1F 6] 3- does not form at significant concentrations in aqueous solution even at very high F -/Al III ratios.
