Dissolution forms of rare-earth orthoferrites

Abstract

Orthorhombic RFeO3 crystal spheres (where R = Yb, Y, Er and Sm) were dissolved in H3PO4 and HBr acids. The dissolution forms were usually bounded by rhombic prism faces, but YFeO3 and SmFeO3 showed pinacoid faces, and SmFeO3 showed rhombic dipyramid faces as well.
