Abstract

At Vadallo-rocks, Hungary, a sudden rise in density in spring up to the maximum value was observed. After reaching maximum density, an exponential decrease caused by the considerable overpopulation was characteristic of sites with optimum ecological conditions. On a less suitable, warmer and drier site, the decrease proved to be linear in time. The seed-bank of small balsam seems strong enough to ensure survival in an area, when seed production is hindered in a year. -from Author
