Disorder induced cross-over effects at quantum critical points

Abstract

The critical properties of quantum spin chains with varying degrees of disorder were studied at zero temperatures. The phase diagram was found to contain three phases, a weak disorder regime and a strong disorder regime separated by an intermediate disorder regime. Critical behavior was controlled by the fixed points of the pure system in the weak disorder regime whereas the intermediate regime exhibited anisotropy in dynamic scaling.
