Differential segregation of autosomal and X-linked markers in intraspecific cell hybrids

Abstract

The segregation of the HPRT and TK phenotypes was studied in intraspecific Chinese hamster hybrids. It was found that the hybrid cells grew faster than the parental lines, that the loss of either the HPRT or the TK phenotype was not accompanied by the loss of any specific chromosome, and that the TK phenotype segregated considerably faster than the HPRT.
