Dielectric dispersion measurements in a nematic liquid crystal mixture

Abstract

Two additional low frequency dispersions of ε{lunate}| have been observed in a mixture of four nematic phenyl benzoates. The corresponding relaxation times, i.e. τ1 | = 2.4 × 10-8 s and τ2 | = 4.3 × 10-9 s at 0.93 TC are ascribed to the hindered rotations of components around the short molecular axes.
