A hole induced change in the antiferromagnetic (AF) structure of a single crystal of Gd:Y1-xCaxBa2Cu3O 6 with x ≅ 0.008 was investigated. AF domains were observed that were static on the time scale of 10-8 s at temperature below 200 K. A new magnetic phase transition in lightly Ca doped YBa 2Cu3O6 was found in which the easy direction of the AF sublattice magnetization was rotated by π/4. The results suggest that the transition is related to the condensation of holes into an ordered structure.
