Determination of energies and widths of neutron-unbound states from heavy-ion collisions

Abstract

Neutron-unbound states in light fragments have been observed in Ag14 reactions at 35 MeV/nucleon. The energy and the width of these states can be determined using a fragment-neutron coincidence technique. We report the energy and width for a state in Be8 (E=19.2340.012 MeV, =21035 keV) and a state in Li9 (E=4.2960.015 MeV, =6045 keV).
