Dermal and transdermal preparations. I. Survey of the literature

In the first part of the series of paper author gives a survey on the literature dealing with ointments, creams, gels and other dermatological preparations of the last decade. He analyses the quantitative increase and points out the most important elements of quantitative changes. A presentation is given concerning the new tendencies in the field of formulation and analytical methods. A survey is given on the most important drug forms used in dermatology, pointing out the special fields of utilization and the advantages and disadvantages of the respective preparations. A draft is given concerning the system of requirements in qualification.
