Dehydrogenation of cyclohexanol in the presence of different metal catalysts

Abstract

It has been shown by radiotracer studies that in the presence of copper and nickel cyclohexanol gives phenol exclusively via cyclohexanone, whereas in the presence of platinum there is a direct pathway for the dehydrogenation of cyclohexanol into phenol.
