Abstract

Hungary has ten million multi-ethnic inhabitants, among whom the frequency of CF is 1:4000 live births. There are more than 300 patients under the care of 12 centres; and nearly 30 CF homozygote newborns are expected per year. Up to 7-8% of our CF patients reach adulthood, and to date two of them have become the mothers of healthy children.
