Abstract

The crystallization processes of an electrodeposited amorphous Ni//7//8P//2//2 alloy were studied by DSC and TEM as well as by magnetization measurements. It is deduced that the appearing crystalline Ni-P compound phases are not stoichiometric, but contain excess Ni dissolved in their lattices. Existing literature data on the crystallization of ED Ni-P alloys are reviewed and the observed crystallization sequences are discussed in view of the appearance of the off-stoichiometric phases.
