The authors regret to report that there is an error in the conversion of Monte Carlo simulations into detector versus neutron energy response, described in Section 4 and shown in Fig. 5 in the original paper. This detector response matrix should be multiplied by a factor of 1/4. As a consequence, the neutron flux Φ per bin in Table 4 and figures 6 and 7 must be multiplied by 4. Thus the integrated neutron background flux in Hall A of LSC becomes ΦHall A = (1.38 ± 0.14) × 10−5 cm−2 s−1.
