Copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes of diastereomeric segments of thymopoietin

Abstract

Copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes of tri- and tetrapeptide segments of thymopoietin-ArgLysAspVal (TP4), ArgLysAsp (TP3, lll, lld, ldl, dll) and ArgLys-(Arg)Asp (ETP3)-were studied by potentiometric spectrophotometric, CD and EPR methods. The coordination of terminal amino, two deprotonated amide nitrogens and the β-carboxylate of the aspartic acid residue was proved in all cases. Significant stereoselectivity was not observed in the copper complexes of diastereomeric tripeptides.
