Abstract

A technique is described for the continuous and simultaneous introduction of refractory matrix material e.g. an alumina sample and a substance of low boiling temperature e.g. zinc into a d.c. arc plasma. With the help of the latter an accurate temperature determination of the plasma is made possible using anode as well as cathode excitation.
