Abstract

In a previous paper, a method was described for calculating the retention indices of aliphatic hydrocarbons on the basis of their molecular structures, on squalane as stationary phase. This method was later extended to olefinic, alicyclic and aromatic hydrocarbons1,2. In the present paper, the widespread application of the method to different compounds (adamantanes, silanes, steroids, etc.) on different stationary phases is described.
