Abstract

Bed-by-bed investigation of the Felsoors, Mencshely and Vaszoly sections in the Balatan Highland (Hungary) allowed to recognize three main events of conodont evolution in the Anisian/Ladinian boundary interval. The conodont events are correlated with the ammonoid chronology and the alternatives of defining the Anisian/Ladinian boundary are discussed. The first alternative at the base of the Reitzi Zone s.l. supported not only by the priority, but also by the appearance of main Ladinian elements in radiolarians and in palynomorphs and foraminifers. -from Author
