Composites: From theory to practical applications

Abstract

Designers working with traditional materials face problems which are well explored in engineering, while those working with composites face new, surprising challenges, and are forced to apply the knowledge from several fields of science and engineering to avoid undesired behavior. These problems are discussed through three practical examples.
