Abstract

A ZnBr2-LiBr-dimethylformamide solution was studied by electron diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. Only one type of zinc bromide complex (ZnBr3 -) was detected, in which about 0.21 of the Zn2+ ions are involved. The complex formation differs markedly from that in a similar aqueous solution.
