Abstract

The report concerns a comparison of the hypothalamic liquor contact neurones with the pinealocytes in mammals (cats, dogs and rats). The results relate principally to the pinealocytes of cats. It was concluded that the mammalian pinealocyte resembles the CSF contact neurone in certain respects. Further comparison of the two cell types should serve to open up new points of view for research into their morphology and function.
