I claim that the results presented by Betsuyaku to prove Haldane's conjecture about the difference in the behavior of integer and half-integer spin models, are not convincing. The "specific heat" has similar behavior for the S=1, 32, 2, and 52 cases. The soliton gap seems to vanish over an extended range of anisotropies and not just at a single value.
