Coexistence of broken and restored chiral symmetry in the baryon sector

Abstract

The solitonic baryon model with a quantized cut-off, proposed recently by Balakrishna et al. is modified to describe a bubble of the chiral symmetric phase immerged into the broken phase. The results of the quantum mechanical treatment of the bubble radius are compared to some characteristic features of the baryon spectra. A possible relevance of the model to the baryon density contrast emerging at the finite temperature chiral phase transition in the Universe is also discussed.
