Abstract

Grave disorders of clotting, similar to those found previously in connection with whole liver transplantation in dogs have been observed following transplantation of hepatic lobes. The hemorrhagic tendency is due to the disturbed production of clotting factors by the liver, decrease in thrombocyte count and increased intraoperative fibrinolysis.
