Cluster size determination in amorphous structures using the Boson peak

Abstract

The universal line-shape of the Boson peak in the low frequency region of the Raman spectra in different amorphous materials was successfully fitted by a lognormal curve. The lognormal size- distribution of clusters appears to be the medium range order of amorphous structures. This size-distribution of clusters was determined for a few samples.
