Clomiphene treatment in male subfertility

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

The therapeutic action of clomiphene citrate has been investigated in 21 pathospermia patients by using the drug in daily 50 mg doses for 12 weeks. Increase of gonadotrophin secrection was recorded besides a marked improvement in the spermiogram of patients with low or normal plasma FSH values. Conception was recorded in the wives of three patients within a therapeutic period of three months. Patients with high FSH concentration did not respond to treatment. 'Clomiphene test' proved to be a reliable method in estimating the responsiveness of patients, and the long-term use of the drug was beneficial in the treatment of subfertility.
