Abstract

Chromosome analysis was carried out in both partners of 14 couples with a history of two or more spontaneous abortions. In one case, a balanced D/G translocation found in the husband explained the repeated abortions. His family included an unbalanced D/G translocational child with clinical Down's syndrome. Implications of such studies in genetic counseling and prenatal diagnosis are discussed.
