Chirped pulse amplification in KrF lasers

The performance of a grating scheme for chirped pulse amplification and recompression to 150 fs in a KrF laser is reported. The effects of strong gain saturation and spectral distortion are analysed. The method is shown to have high potential for generating maximum radiance and high contrast ratio in large aperture KrF lasers.
