Abstract

Combining the CO2(aq) + H2O ↔ H+ + HCO3- equilibrium and a slow removal of CO2 from the solution with an oscillatory H2O2-HSO3--[Fe(CN)6] 4- system gives rise to chaotic temporal pH changes in a continuous-flow stirred tank reactor.
