Abstract

The administration of 1 mg/kg body weight dexamethasone i.p. enhanced glutamic acid decarboxylase activity in the supraoptic nucleus, but diminished it in the medial amygdaloid nucleus. No change in enzyme activity was detected in the paraventricular and arcuate nuclei and in the hippocampus. Adrenalectomy was without effect in all areas studied.
