Abstract

It was proved by the authors that in the postmenopause the excretion of the corticosteroids and together with this, the pituitary ACTH reserve, the liberation of the pituitary ACTH decrease in comparison with the premenopause. On the basis of the 11 DOCS excretion values it was concluded that in the postmenopause the corticosteroid excretion can be influenced much more profoundly with estrogens than in the premenopause, and that the reactivity of the pituitary adrenal cortex cannot be changed essentially by small doses of estrogens.
