Cascade of the field induced spin density wave transition in Bechgaard Salts

Abstract

Making use of a two dimensional tight binding quasi-particle energy spectrum for organic conductors (Bechgaard Salts), we obtain an analytical expression of the spin density wave (SDW) transition temperature in a high magnetic field along the c* direction. The present theory predicts a cascade of SDW transitions which describes very well the observed transitions in (TMTSF)2ClO4.
