Calibration of electron spectrometers by using 99mTc internal conversion electron sources

Abstract

Methods of "absolute" resolution and efficiency calibration based on internal conversion spectroscopic measurements of 99mTc sources are described. Possibilities for determining X-ray widths are also discussed. The application of the procedures recommended here makes it possible to regain the electron spectra "as emitted" from the sample, free from distortions due to the instruments.
