Broadband neutron spin-flippers on magnetized foils

Abstract

Broadband neutron spin-flippers were studied on magnetized foils. The adiabatic and non-adiabatic neutron spin-flippers were designed for a wide wavelength band. The neutron spin-echo (NSE) and time of flight (TOF) experimental setup employed a broad wavelength spectra together with fine energy transfer NSE-analysis in scattering. A gain in neutron intensity for broadband NSE was found to be ≅ 102 in magnitude.
