Abstract

A follow-up study of 32 children is reported in whom seizures occurred mostly during sleep, early in the morning. Short motoric focal seizures were observed, concomitant with facial spasms, salivation and groaning. In the majority of the cases the neurologic examination displays no pathologic finding, - in the EEG always 'spikes' and/or 'sharp waves' with maximum in the centro-temporal region are observed. The patients usually become free from seizures again.
