The number of reptiles kept as pet animals increased considerably in the past years, and there are a lot of new species in Hungary, which are unknown even for the veterinarians. Most of the diseases of these animals develope due to their wrong feeding/nutrition. In the first part of their series of articles the authors demonstrate the most common reptile species kept in Hungary. On the basis of their literary knowledge and own experience, they summarize the most essential principles of the nutrition of these animals, and give practical advices to their feeding.
