Application of ultrafiltration and CD spectroscopy for studying stereoselective binding of racemic ligands

Abstract

Measurement of optical purities for the ligand in the ultrafiltrate and retentate allows quantitative determination of the stereoselectivity in the binding of racemic ligands. Stereoselectivity for the binding of lorazepam acetate to human serum albumin has been found to be smaller than that of oxazepam acetate. CD-data indicate that, in both cases, the enantiomer with higher binding affinity is of (S)-absolute configuration.
