Abstract

Aplanatic curved diffractive element for imaging and light concentration were discussed. Interference pattern of two ordinary spherical or plane waves on a spherical surface was recorded. It was found that a diffractive optical element (DOE) that fulfills the Abbe sine condition suppresses all first-order (monochromatic) aberrations.
