Abstract

It is shown that a continuous generalization of the odd Schrödinger-cat state emerging from the annihilation of one photon in the squeezed vacuum state shows remarkable nonclassical properties such as squeezing at mean photon number higher than 2 and sub-Poissonian photon statics.
