Abstract

A satellite symposium of the XXIX International Congress of the International Union of Physiological Sciences was held at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Newcastle, Australia, on August 25-26th, 1983. The predominant subject was the release of substance P from the peripheral endings of somatosensory primary neurones, which induces vasoactive effects such as vasolidation and plasma extravasation.
