Angular distributions of low-energy electrons from proton-atom collisions

Abstract

The forward-backward angular asymmetry in the low-energy electron emission by ion impact is studied in this work. A three-body classical trajectory Monte Carlo (CTMC) method is used to calculate the doubly differential cross sections of ionization in proton-H, Ne atom collisions as a function of the electron emission angle. Our CTMC results are compared with the existing theoretical and experimental data.
