Angular distribution of electrons ejected from argon by 350 kev proton impact: Cdw-eis approximation

Abstract

We have carried out a generalization of the continuum distorted wave eikonal initial state (cdw-ejs) approximation for ion impact ionization in which the interaction of the ejected electron with the target is represented by a Hartree-Fock potential. We apply this theory to the ionization of Ar by 350 keV protons. Very good agreement is obtained with experiment for the angular and energy distribution of electrons ejected from the L and M shells.
