Analytical and micropreparative capillary gel electrophoresis of DNA fragments

Abstract

In this study, automated capillary gel electrophoresis was applied for high-resolution analytical and high-yield micropreparative separation of DNA fragments using replaceable polymer networks and multispectral detection modes. The excellent separation power of high-performance CGE allowed high-resolution analysis of very similar-size DNA molecules and precise collection of any required fragments for further downstream processing. Nanomolar quantities of cDNA amplicons were collected, and subsequent cloning experiments were successfully accomplished.
