Adiabatic beam shaping of diffuse light

Abstract

An overview of a beam shaping technique in which beam shaping is achieved by means of a hollow tube with reflecting metallic walls was presented. Two types of tube geometries were investigated. An extension to the adiabatic tube approach, where a tapered gradient-index rod was shown to perform general beam-shaping tasks was also proposed and investigated.
