Abstract

Excitation functions of deuteron induced reactions on natural thallium, leading to the formation of the 204m,203,202mPb, 202Tl isotopes, were studied by the stacked foil activation technique. Reaction cross sections were measured from their respective thresholds up to Ed = 21 MeV. Quantification of induced isotopes has been made by gamma spectrometry. Where available, the experimental cross sections are compared with values reported previously in literature. Based on the discrete values of the measured cross section, thick target yield for the medically interesting radionuclide 203Pb is calculated.
